The 2013 IEEE Power & Energy Society General Meeting will be held 21-25 July, 2013 at the Vancouver Convention Centre, the Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle Downtown Hotel and the Renaissance Vancouver Harbourside Hotel located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

The theme of the meeting is: Shaping the Future Energy Industry

The IEEE PES GM 2013 organizing committee and the PES Power Engineering Education Committee are happy to announce that there will be both a Student Support Program and a Student Poster Contest at the 2013 GM in Vancouver, BC.

Tutorials

Tutorials offered at the General Meeting cover a range of topics.

- Six half-day tutorials. These include a variety of tutorials covering Smart Grid topics: DOE's 7 Traits, Implementation and Lessons Learned, Microgrids, Distribution, and Distributed Energy Resources, as well as a tutorial on Distribution Overcurrent Protection and Coordination

- Seven full day tutorials encompassing a wide range of topics of interest to engineers, including Power Quality, Operation of Electricity Markets, Energy Forecasting, Application of IEC CIM Standards, Synchrophasor Fundamentals and Applications, Gas Insulated Lines, and Renewable Energy Plant Design.

Tutorials are part of the General Meeting. An additional registration fee is required in addition to the conference fee.
